I hope in the future we abandon terms like husband and wife in favor of a much better term I came up with: “cutesie booper”.
Why it’s the best:
- It’s gender neutral
- It’s cute and fun to say
- It implies that the cutesie booper is one who boops cutesies. Therefore anyone involved with the cutesie booper is also a cutesie. For example - I am with a cutesie booper, therefore I’m a cutesie. It prioritizes self love as well as love for the other.
- "Boop" doesn’t really mean anything but is obviously endearingly intimate, so it implies a meaningful relationship without having any sexual or heteronormatively romantic baggage to it.
So tldr if you have someone special in your life but you’ve never felt comfortable with the words society gives you, I think cutesie booper is for you. The relationship shall be referred to as a boopership. Trust me I’ve seen many Wikipedia articles on linguistics.
